The Academic Board is the supreme Academic authority of the polytechnic which shall have direct overall policy of the academic programme of the institution. The Board made up of all directors of schools, Head of Departments, co-ordinates and all chief Lecturers. The Rector is the chairman, with the Deputy Rector and Polytechnic Liberian as members. The Registrar is the secretary to the Academic Board.

Result from school and Department are considered and approver by the Academic Board before same is released to the students. The Board also undertakes regular review of the various curricula and updates the academic policies of the polytechnic towards the enhancement and maintenance of standards. The Polytechnic vide the National Board for technical Education (NBTE) undergoes regular audit of its progammes. As part of its policy towards the maintenance of standards the Polytechnic has in place various internal control mechanisms for quality assurance procedures. All progammes are regularly subjected to rigorous internal and balances.
